The Director of the Moral Guidance Department in the "Libyan National Army", Khaled Al-Mahjoub, said that "they will only hand over the leadership of the army to a democratically elected president by the Libyan people."
"The mission of the new government in Libya, which emerged from the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, aims to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in the country in which the Libyan people express their aspirations directly and freely," Al-Mahjoub added.
Al-Mahjoub pointed out that "as long as there are foreign forces in Libya and mercenaries brought by Turkey daily, and weapons outside the authority of the state, the need for an organized national army remains."
This comes as the head of the Libyan government, Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba, announced, on Thursday evening, the presentation of the formation of a national unity government to the Libyan Parliament.
