Reactions condemning the Turkish regime's statements inciting against France and French President Emmanuel Macron continue to react.
In France, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan warned the Turkish regime against interfering in the internal affairs of his country. Darmanan told Inter France radio that he was shocked by the interference of foreign powers in French affairs, and said that Turkey should not interfere in the internal affairs of France.
Darmanan's warnings preceded French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian's condemnation of the Turkish regime's statements, and Le Drian said that there is a Turkish desire to stoke hatred against France and its president, Emmanuel Macron, adding that the French ambassador to Ankara will return to Paris for consultations.
In a related context, German Chancellor Angela Merkel criticized Erdogan's statements, describing them as "defamatory" against Macron.
The European Commission confirmed at a later time that the Turkish authorities' boycott of French goods is further and further away from the European Union.
