Proto Thima, the Greek newspaper, revealed that Greece, Cyprus and Israel had signed the tripartite military cooperation program for the year 2021.
The Greek newspaper said that the signing took place in the presence of the Chief of the General Staff of the Greek National Defense, General Konstantinos Florus, and the heads of the military delegations to Cyprus and Israel.
The newspaper added that signing this program allows the three countries to enhance military cooperation between the armed forces, through joint exercises and operational activities.
The agreement comes at a time when the eastern Mediterranean region is witnessing great tension between Cyprus and Greece on the one hand, and turkey on the other hand, since the latter sent a research ship to the Mediterranean to explore for gas and oil.
