Iraqi forces has launched a security operation in areas of northern Iraq

Diyala Operations Commander Major General Ghassan Khaled Al-Ezzi said that the aim of the comprehensive operations is to eliminate the hidden terrorist pockets between the borders of Diyala, Salahuddin and the Diyala border with the Kurdistan region.

Al-Ezzi added that the operations extend from the north-eastern regions of the governorate in the Hamrin basin to the borders of the Al-Azim side - Salah al-Din. Al-Ezzi also mentioned the participation of the security forces, including the army, the police, the popular crowd, warfare, and support units.
