Continuous French moves against the measures of the Turkish regime in eastern Mediterranean , especially those related to its violations of the sovereignty of Greece and Cyprus, through the exploration of gas and oil in the territorial waters of the two member states of the European Union.
During a press conference with his Cypriot counterpart, Nicos Anastasiades, at the Elysee Palace, French President Emmanuel Macron demanded the European Union to impose sanctions on the Turkish regime, and affirmed its full support to Cyprus and Greece, stressing that it is unacceptable that the maritime field of member states of the Union be violated and threatened.
Macron considered it a grave mistake to leave their security in the Mediterranean region in the hands of other parties, and he said that France would not allow this to happen, and called on Europe to think carefully about security issues in the Mediterranean.
Macron also called for a summit in France bringing together the European Union bordering the Mediterranean "Euromed 7" at the end of August next, to discuss the latest developments in the region.
Macron: No foreign powers can be allowed to violate the arms embargo on Libya
Regarding Libya, Macron refused to allow foreign powers to violate the international ban on sending weapons to the country mired in civil war, stressing that the arms embargo is necessary to reach a ceasefire and sit at the dialogue table to reach a political solution to the conflict.
The reasons for the tension in the relations between the European Union and the Turkish system are due to many reasons. In addition to the excavation activities off Cyprus, there is military support provided by the Justice and Development Government to the Government of Concord, not to mention the extortion it is practicing by waving Europe's flooding of refugees.
