The Libyan National Army spokesman, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, revealed Turkey's involvement in smuggling Syrian mercenaries from Libya towards Europe, in particular Italy.
Al-Mesmari explained in a press conference held in Benghazi, eastern Libya, that this line runs from the areas of Tripoli, Sabratah and Zuwara, and is subject to the militias of the Fayez al-Sarraj government allied to Turkey.
He explained that there are about 1,000 Syrians who fled via Zuwara and Sabratah towards Europe last week, through boats provided by one of the European countries in support of the Libyan coast guard, but they are now being exploited in illegal immigration.
He pointed out that these illegal immigrants were mercenaries.
Al-Mesmari pointed to reports that 483 Syrians fled from Libya to Europe only on Tuesday.
He warned Europe against the escalation of illegal immigration across the sea, indicating that this migration may not be innocent, as there may be terrorist elements among them that raise the few on the European continent.
Al-Mesmari said that this file will remain open in light of chaos and in the presence of the Turkish invader, who wants to continue the crisis.
