The Libyan National Army air defense systems shot down a Turkish UAV aircraft, which was flying west of the city of Sirte, on Thursday night.
According to a military source, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Libya, "a Turkish plane was shot down west of the city of Sirte."
This was the official spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan National Army, Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, who confirmed in his press conference on Wednesday that the battle is a fundamental choice against the militias, Turks and violators of law, stressing that the Air Force has increased the efficiency of its fighters, and the ground forces are ready.
Al-Mesmari said, “We worked to restructure the operations room and lines of fire, and the Sirte Front was reinforced with weapons, shields, radars, and air defenses,” denying the withdrawal of the Libyan army from its positions west of Sirte.
Al-Mismari stressed in his conference that, "Our air and ground forces are fully prepared for the battle and are capable of hitting any target in Libya."
