A deputy in the Iraqi parliament revealed that the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga had reached an agreement sponsored by the international coalition to contain the threat of ISIS in the disputed areas.
Member of the House of Representatives of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Bashar Al-Kiki, said in press statements that the discussions of the Ministry of Defense and the Peshmerga achieved positive security results to solve the outstanding problems and close the fragile security holes.
Al-Kiki added that the talks resulted in an agreement to form four security coordination offices between the two parties, one in Nineveh and the rest in the other provinces.
Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region, hosted the last round of talks, on Tuesday, in the presence of a high-level delegation from the international coalition.
