After a year of wrangling over the fate of Lockheed Martin's F-35 fighter aircraft, speculation about them has ended, after the Turkish regime is excluded from its program.
The US Department of Defense, "The Pentagon," closed the decision that its air force would purchase eight of the most advanced F-35 fighters in the world, which were originally manufactured in favor of the Turkish regime. Meanwhile, six more planes remain unaccounted for.
The US "Defense News" magazine specializing in military affairs, stated in a report that the Turkish regime officially lost this military deal, which is valued at 682 million dollars.
The Turkish regime was planning to buy 100 F-35 fighters according to an US weapons program, but it was excluded from it in July last year after contracting with Russia to buy the S-400 air defense system.
The Turkish regime has received repeated warnings from US officials that it might lose the F-35 deal if it insists on purchasing the S-400 system, which conflicts with the nature of the work of the US fighters.
Earlier this month, a number of US Senators, Defense Secretary Mark Esber, called for a speedy exit of the Turkish system from the F35 aircraft manufacturing program, and members of the Council expressed concern about the slow steps taken to stop the Turkish regime from participating in the aircraft manufacturing program.
