Sources revealed that Egypt has opened direct contacts with the leaders of the Libyan National Army to support it, and an Egyptian operations room has been formed to follow up on developments, and Libyan leaders will visit Egypt in the coming hours to take the necessary steps.
And private sources told Al-Arabia Network that the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Aqila Saleh, appreciated the Egyptian army’s mandate to intervene in Libya and support the Libyan state.
The sources added that Egypt will determine the appropriate time to implement what is necessary to maintain its national security, and has identified the terrorist groups present in Libya and the nationalities of many of them.
According to these sources, Egypt has opened direct contacts with the Libyan leadership for joint coordination and support for the Libyan army, and an Egyptian operations room has been formed to follow up closely the developments of the Libyan crisis, and that the coming hours will witness visits by Libyan officials to consult and take the necessary steps.
Yesterday, the Egyptian parliament approved, with the unanimity of its members present, the mandate of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the armed forces to carry out combat missions outside the borders to protect national security.
