The SANA news agency affiliated with the Syrian government announced that the air defenses responded to targets it described as hostile, and shot down a number of them in the sky of the capital, Damascus.
SANA reported that the air defenses had responded to bursts of rockets, which were directed by Israeli planes from Majdal Shams in the Golan, towards the south of Damascus, which, according to the agency, brought down most of them.
Israel has launched dozens of air strikes during the past months, which are believed to be Iranian targets spread in Syria.
The Syrian government said last June that Israeli strikes on eastern and southern locations of the country had resulted in the death of two people and the injury of another.
