The Egyptian Parliament member Mustafa Bakri announced Sunday that Parliament will discuss the mandate of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the decision to send troops to Libya to support Haftar's forces.
The move comes after news that the Al-Wefaq government forces moved to Sirte.
Witnesses and military leaders in the Al-Wefaq government forces said that a convoy of about 200 vehicles moved east from Misurata on the Mediterranean coast towards the city of Tower Ghasa, which is about a third of the way to Sirte. Bakri said, "The militias are moving towards Sirte, under Turkish protection, in a blatant challenge to the entire international community. The Libyan National Army warned, and President Sisi said: Sirte and Al-Jafra are a red line, and Egypt will not stand idly by, but it appears that the scheme is on its way, surprises await Erdogan and his militia. "
Al-Sisi warned last month that the Egyptian army might enter Libya if the Tripoli government and its Turkish allies resume the offensive on the Sirte-Jafra frontline, which is seen as the gateway to Libya's main oil export terminals. Al-Jafra and Sirte are controlled by the Libyan National Army.
