The spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Hafez, said that the demands for Egyptian intervention in Libya came from Libyan elected sides, in order to confront terrorism that was brought from Syria after its deployment there via the Turkish border.
Hafez added that the Turkish interference in the affairs of the Arab countries, militarily and politically, has no legal basis, and is contrary to the decisions of the UN Security Council.
The Egyptian official reiterated his country's position rejecting Turkish military and political interference in the affairs of Arab countries.
This came in response to statements by some officials of the Turkish regime, regarding the legitimacy of the calls made by Libyan parties to Egypt recently in order to intervene to maintain security and stability.
