Major General Ahmed al-Mesmari, spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan National Army, said that during its naval maneuvers, Turkey intended to use Turkish ships to launch drones to eastern Libya.
Al-Mesmari said in a television interview, that Egypt's naval maneuvers "Hasm 2020" forced the Turks to cancel naval maneuvers, saying that Ankara wanted to use it to launch planes marching towards Libya, in an attempt with great measures "to reach the armed forces areas in eastern Libya."
The Libyan military spokesman indicated that the army sent messages to "spectators" outside and inside, stating that it was monitoring well Misurata, Maitika airport and Uqba Bin Nafeh base, "Al-Watiyah".
Al-Mismari also announced that Turkey is trying to find a link base and a launching base between "terrorism in Tunisia and Libya through patriotism, benefiting from the size of this base and from the port of Zuwara, which is 50 km from the base."
The spokesman added, noting that Turkey "has turned the city of Misurata into an administrative base for its forces and militias in the Heisha area and in the Qudahiyah from which it tries to advance to the city of Sirte," stressing in the same context that Ankara "runs this region with full military administration with Turkish authorities and Turkish leadership."
