The PKK fighters carried out a sudden surprise operation against the special units of the Turkish security in Barwari area in Siirt, the far south of the country.
According to initial reports, the party’s fighters killed more than 10 members, in addition to 4 wounded, in the attack, which is considered the most violent of its kind in months.
PKK fighters launched the raid at 23:00, according to Diyarbakir, from several axes, in which they used machine guns, medium weapons and Erbiji bombers, in its surprise operation.
It is believed that the party fighters placed the Turkish special forces in an ambush, because the Turkish army was carrying out a sweep campaign in the region.
n the context, the Turkish Ministry of Defense has announced so far the killing of two of its soldiers and the wounding of 4 others in the attack by the Kurdistan Workers in Barwari of Siirt province.
