The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia published a video of the destruction of the Azerbaijani drone “Elbit Hermes 900” on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. In an interview with Armenpress, the head of the command and staff faculty of the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute, former press secretary of the Defense Ministry, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, noted that this is one of the most expensive and important drones belonging to the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

"Elbit Hermes 900" is a powerful unmanned aerial vehicle, it is a fire control system, it is a reconnaissance UAV, it is very expensive and it is the largest UAV in Azerbaijan,” Hovhannisyan said.

Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page: “This is probably the first shoot down of the Elbit Hermes 900 in the world. ”

According to some estimates, this large drone costs about $ 30 million.

UAV Hermes-900 is produced by the Israeli company Elbit Systems. In Azerbaijan, they are deployed in the rear and are on the balance of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, and not the army. This may indicate that, in addition to the Azerbaijani army, the GPS is also involved in the operations.
